Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC), 8-3 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Butler improves its record to 14-5 on the year. The Bulldogs host Cox Mill (Concord, NC) to clash with the Chargers in a non-league test on Wednesday, April 24. The Chargers go into the test with a record of 6-10. Cox Mill lost 16-14 in their recent non-league test against Cannon (Concord, NC)

The Cougars (4-16) will now prepare for their test against East Rowan (Salisbury, NC). The Mustangs go into the South Piedmont 3A test with a 15-3 record. In their last test, East Rowan was routed by Central Cabarrus (Concord, NC), 6-0, in a league test.
