West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host St. Joseph Central Irish (Huntington, WV), 16-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Comets now own a 5-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mason County for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 23. West Carter will face a Royals squad coming off a 8-0 non-league loss to Harrison County (Cynthiana, KY). The Royals record now stands at 10-7.

With the loss, St. Joseph Central falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Irish travel to Point Pleasant (Point Pleasant, WV) to face the Big Blacks in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 23. The Big Blacks enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. Point Pleasant won 22-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Nitro (Nitro, WV)
