The Clinton Maroons overwhelmed the host Hartsburg-Emden Stags softball squad by a count of 9-3 in Tuesday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Maroons meet the Meridian Hawks (Macon, IL) in a Central Illinois challenge, on Monday, April 28. Clinton will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Hawks go into the challenge with a 15-3 record after their 10-5 league win over Central A & M (Moweaqua, IL).

The Stags (0-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Illini Bluffs (Glasford, IL). The Tigers go into the Inter County challenge with a 9-4 record. In their last challenge, Illini Bluffs held off Midwest Central/Illini Central (Manito, IL), 12-0, in a league challenge.
