The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Edwards County Lions (Albion, IL) and the host Arcola Purple Riders (Arcola, IL), saw Edwards County's softball squad nip Arcola by a count of 12-5.

The Lions now sport a 11-6 record. They take the field next when they host Eldorado for a Black Diamond East match on Monday, April 25. Edwards County will face a Eagles squad coming off a 10-1 league loss to Hamilton County (McLeansboro, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 2-8.

With the loss, Arcola falls to 10-10 on the campaign. The Purple riders travel to Farina South Central (Farina, IL) to face the Cougars in a non-league match on Saturday, April 23. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 12-5. Farina South Central won 19-6 in their recent league match against Neoga (Neoga, IL)
