Rhode Island High School Softball - Chariho gets by Cumberland

Spectators at Saturday's league match between the Chariho Chargers (Wood River Junction, RI) and the visiting Cumberland Clippers (Cumberland, RI), witnessed Chariho's softball squad tip Cumberland by a count of 2-1.

The Chargers now sport a 3-5 record. They play next when they host Scituate for a State Championship Division - North match on Monday, April 25. Chariho will face a Spartans squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Moses Brown (Providence, RI). The Spartans record now stands at 3-6.

With the loss, Cumberland moves to 2-6 on the season. The Clippers travel to Pilgrim (Warwick, RI) to face the Patriots in a State Championship Division - South match on Monday, April 25. The Patriots go into the match with a record of 8-0. Pilgrim won 5-4 in their recent league match against Smithfield (Esmond, RI)
