The Fairfield Lions softball team scored 5 runs and limited the host Ironton Fighting Tigers to 3 in the Lions non-league triumph on Saturday.
With the triumph, Fairfield improves its record to 10-2 on the year. The Lions travel to Cabell Midland (Ona, WV) to clash with the Knights in a non-league game on Saturday, April 23. The Knights come into the game with a record of 14-7. Cabell Midland won 8-5 in their recent league game against Spring Valley (Huntington, WV)
In their next game, the Fighting Tigers clash with the Gallia Academy Blue Devils (Gallipolis, OH) in a Ohio Valley game, on Monday, April 25. Ironton will attempt to improve on its 7-3 season record. The Blue Devils come into the game with a 7-5 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Logan Elm (Circleville, OH).
