York Wildcats (York, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Morse Shipbuilders (Bath, ME), 8-1 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cape Elizabeth for a Class B South challenge on Monday, April 25. York will battle a Capers squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Brunswick (Brunswick, ME). The Capers record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Morse falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Shipbuilders host Medomak Valley (Waldoboro, ME) to battle the Panthers in a Class B South challenge on Monday, April 25. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Medomak Valley won 7-3 in their recent league challenge against Leavitt (Turner, ME)
