The St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) baseball got by the host Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), 10-9 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.
The Indians now own a 13-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Iredell for a Western Foothills 3A challenge on Monday, April 28. St. Stephens will clash with a Warriors team coming off a 7-1 league loss to East Lincoln (Denver, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 8-12.
With the defeat, Newton-Conover drops to 12-8 on the year. The Red devils travel to West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC) to clash with the Rebels in a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A challenge on Tuesday, April 29. The Rebels go into the challenge with a record of 14-10. West Lincoln won 12-1 in their recent league challenge against Lincolnton (Lincolnton, NC)
