In Wednesday's non-league match, the visiting Galena Pirates softball team scored a tight 3-1 win over the Lena-Winslow Panthers.

The Pirates (11-3) will now prepare for their match against West Carroll (Savanna, IL). The Thunder come into the NUIC West match with a 5-14 record. In their last match, West Carroll by Galena (Galena, IL), 4-0, in a league match.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Orangeville Broncos (Orangeville, IL) in a NUIC East match, on Thursday, April 24. Lena-Winslow will attempt to better on its 10-9 season record. The Broncos come into the match with a 14-4 record after their 2-0 league win over Durand (Durand, IL).
