The Mt. Zion Braves triumphed over the host St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans softball squad by a count of 13-1 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Braves play the Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL) in a Apollo challenge, on Friday, April 25. Mt. Zion will attempt to upgrade on its 11-5 season record. The Greenwave enter the challenge with a 4-12 record after their 12-7 non-league loss to Marshall (Marshall, IL).
The Spartans (13-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Pontiac (Pontiac, IL). The Indians enter the Illini Prairie challenge with a 11-3 record. In their last challenge, Pontiac overcame Olympia (Stanford, IL), 4-0, in a non-league challenge.
