The Newton Local Indians overwhelmed the host Troy Christian Eagles softball squad by a count of 12-0 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Indians meet the Franklin Monroe Jets (Pitsburg, OH) in a Western Ohio Athletic challenge, on Thursday, April 24. Newton Local will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Jets go into the challenge with a 1-7 record after their 21-0 league loss to Tri-County North (Lewisburg, OH).

The Eagles (0-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Milton-Union (West Milton, OH). The Bulldogs go into the Three Rivers challenge with a 12-5 record. In their last challenge, Milton-Union was routed by Tri-Village (New Madison, OH), 10-1, in a non-league challenge.
