New Mexico High School Softball - Sandia Volcano Vista

In Wednesday's non-league match, the visiting Sandia Matadors softball team scored a tight 8-5 win over the Volcano Vista Hawks.

The Matadors (13-8) will now prepare for their match against Capital (Santa Fe, NM). The Jaguars come into the 5A District 2 match with a 11-9 record. In their last match, Capital was routed by Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM), 14-11, in a league match.

In their next game, the Hawks confront the Farmington Scorpions (Farmington, NM) in a 5A District 1 match, on Friday, April 25. Volcano Vista will attempt to better on its 8-15 season record. The Scorpions come into the match with a 12-10 record after their 11-0 league win over Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM).
