In Thursday's non-league match, the host Mathews Mustangs softball team scored a tight 12-9 victory over the Struthers Wildcats.

The Mustangs (7-8) will now prepare for their match against Harding (Fairport Harbor, OH). The Skippers go into the Northeastern Athletic match with a 0-9 record. In their last match, Harding was routed by Grand Valley (Orwell, OH), 18-2, in a league match.

In their next game, the Wildcats battle the South Range Raiders (Canfield, OH) in a Northeast Eight Athletic outing, on Monday, April 27. Struthers will attempt to move on its 2-13 season record. The Raiders come into the outing with a 12-6 record after their 11-4 non-league win over Elyria Catholic (Elyria, OH).
