Alcoa Tornadoes (Alcoa, TN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Maryville Red Rebels (Maryville, TN), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Tornadoes now sport a 18-5 record. They take the field next when they host William Blount for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 26. Alcoa will face a Governors squad coming off a 13-3 non-league win over Seymour (Seymour, TN). The Governors record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Maryville falls to 7-14 on the campaign. The Red rebels host Gibbs (Corryton, TN) to face the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 26. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 25-2. Gibbs won 4-2 in their recent league challenge against Carter (Strawberry Plains, TN)
