Whitesboro Warriors (Marcy, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Central Valley Academy Thunder (Ilion, NY), 9-8 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rome Free Academy for a Section 3 Tri-Valley challenge on Tuesday, April 25. Whitesboro will face a Black Knights squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Proctor (Utica, NY). The Black Knights record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Central Valley Academy falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Thunder host Holland Patent (Holland Patent, NY) to face the Golden Knights in a Section 3 Tri-Valley challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Golden Knights enter the challenge with a record of 1-3. Holland Patent won 8-3 in their recent league challenge against Oneida (Oneida, NY)
