Eastern Greene Thunderbirds (Bloomfield, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Shakamak Lakers (Jasonville, IN), 12-11 in a league challenge.

The Thunderbirds now own a 4-9 record. They take the field next when they host North Central for a Southwestern Indiana challenge on Wednesday, April 26. Eastern Greene will battle a Thunderbirds squad coming off a 15-1 non-league win over North Vermillion (Cayuga, IN). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 3-11.

With the loss, Shakamak falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Lakers host North Daviess (Elnora, IN) to battle the Cougars in a Southwestern Indiana challenge on Thursday, April 27. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 9-7. North Daviess lost 4-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Pike Central (Petersburg, IN)
