Marengo Indians (Marengo, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Wauconda Bulldogs (Wauconda, IL), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now own a 14-2 record. They take the field next when they host Harvard for a Kishwaukee River challenge on Tuesday, April 25. Marengo will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 22-6 non-league win over Round Lake (Round Lake, IL). The Hornets record now stands at 4-6.

With the loss, Wauconda falls to 12-8 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Grayslake Central (Grayslake, IL) to clash with the Rams in a Northern Lake County game on Tuesday, April 25. The Rams come into the game with a record of 4-6. Grayslake Central won 6-5 in their recent non-league game against Vernon Hills (Vernon Hills, IL)
