Pontiac Indians (Pontiac, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL), 13-2 in a league challenge.

The Indians now own a 12-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Prairie Central for a Illini Prairie challenge on Thursday, April 27. Pontiac will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 6-4 non-league win over Lexington (Lexington, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 7-10.

With the loss, Monticello falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Sages host Urbana (Urbana, IL) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 1-13. Urbana lost 5-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Rantoul (Rantoul, IL)
