In Monday's non-league contest, the Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL) softball team held off the host Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL), by a margin of 6-5.
With the triumph, Salem moves its record to 16-3 on the year. The Wildcats host Columbia (Columbia, IL) to play the Eagles in a Cahokia - Mississippi contest on Tuesday, April 25. The Eagles come into the contest with a record of 10-7. Columbia won 6-2 in their recent non-league contest against Waterloo (Waterloo, IL)
In their next game, the Rams play the Cahokia Comanches (Cahokia, IL) in a South Seven contest, on Tuesday, April 25. Mt. Vernon will attempt to move on its 6-8 season record. The Comanches come into the contest with a 0-8 record after their 22-0 non-league loss to Alton (Alton, IL).
