Peru Tigers (Peru, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Whitko Wildcats (South Whitley, IN), 12-10 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host Tippecanoe Valley for a Three Rivers challenge on Wednesday, April 26. Peru will face a Vikings squad coming off a 6-4 league win over Rochester (Rochester, IN). The Vikings record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Whitko falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Huntington North (Huntington, IN) to face the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 8-2. Huntington North won 7-0 in their recent league challenge against East Noble (Kendallville, IN)
