Deering Rams (Portland, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Westbrook Blue Blazes (Westbrook, ME), 14-13 in a league challenge.

The Rams now own a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Portland for a Class A South challenge on Friday, April 26. Deering will battle a Red Riots squad coming off a 25-0 league win over Noble (North Berwick, ME). The Red Riots record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Westbrook falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Blue blazes host Falmouth (Falmouth, ME) to battle the Navigators in a Class A South challenge on Friday, April 26. The Navigators enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Falmouth lost 22-0 in their recent league challenge against Portland (Portland, ME)
