Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) and the visiting Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC), witnessed Elkin's softball squad prevail over Surry Central by a count of 9-0.

The Buckin' Elks now sport a 13-6 record. They play next when they host South Stokes for a Northwest 1A match on Friday, April 26. Elkin will face a Sauras squad coming off a 5-3 league loss to North Stokes (Danbury, NC). The Sauras record now stands at 8-14.

With the loss, Surry Central moves to 5-9 on the season. The Golden eagles travel to North Wilkes (Hays, NC) to face the Vikings in a Foothills 2A match on Thursday, April 25. The Vikings go into the match with a record of 11-6. North Wilkes lost 10-1 in their recent league match against Forbush (East Bend, NC)
