The Maine Central Institute Huskies (Pittsfield, ME) softball nipped the visiting Winslow Black Raiders (Winslow, ME), 14-13 in Wednesday's non-league bout.
The Huskies (4-0) will now prepare for their bout against Foxcroft Academy (Dover-Foxcroft, ME). The Ponies go into the Class C North bout with a 0-2 record.
The Black Raiders now possess a 1-3 record. They play next when they travel to Nokomis for a Class B North bout on Friday, April 26. Winslow will confront a Warriors squad coming off a 12-1 league win over Lawrence (Fairfield, ME). The Warriors record now stands at 2-0.
