The Mattoon Greenwave baseball team scored 3 runs and held the visiting Champaign Central Maroons to 2 in the Greenwave non-league win on Thursday.
The Greenwave now own a 11-7 record. They take the field next when they host Mt. Zion for a Apollo test on Saturday, April 26. Mattoon will clash with a Braves team coming off a 5-0 non-league loss to Teutopolis (Teutopolis, IL). The Braves record now stands at 11-4.
With the defeat, Champaign Central drops to 11-10 on the year. The Maroons host Centennial (Champaign, IL) to clash with the Chargers in a Big Twelve test on Monday, April 28. The Chargers go into the test with a record of 7-10. Centennial lost 5-4 in their recent league test against Bloomington (Bloomington, IL)
