In Thursday's non-league game, the visiting Hoosic Valley Hawks baseball team scored a close 7-1 victory over the Schenectady Patriots.
The Hawks (5-5) will now prepare for their game against Saratoga Central Catholic (Saratoga Springs, NY). The Saints enter the Section 2 Wasaren game with a 9-0 record. In their last game, Saratoga Central Catholic held off Hoosick Falls (Hoosick Falls, NY), 12-1, in a league game.
Next, the Patriots face the Albany Falcons (Albany, NY) in a Section 2 Freelance game, on Monday, April 28. Schenectady will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record. The Falcons enter the game with a 4-5 record after their 8-3 non-league loss to Coxsackie-Athens (Coxsackie, NY).
