Fans at Thursday's league test between the Staples Wreckers (Westport, CT) and the host New Canaan Rams (New Canaan, CT), witnessed Staples's lacrosse squad hold off New Canaan by a count of 7-6.

The Wreckers (1-0) will now prepare for their test against St. Joseph (Trumbull, CT). The Cadets enter the Fairfield County test with a 7-2 record. In their last test, St. Joseph nipped Norwalk (Norwalk, CT), 17-3, in a league test.

Next, the Rams battle the Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs (Rumson, NJ) in a non-league test, on Saturday, April 26. New Canaan will attempt to move on its 6-1 season record.
