Indiana High School Softball - Wheeler bounces Merrillville

The Wheeler Bearcats softball team scored 11 runs and held the visiting Merrillville Pirates to 0 in the Bearcats non-league win on Thursday.

The Bearcats now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Whiting for a Greater South Shore battle on Friday, April 25. Wheeler will confront a Oilers team coming off a 12-3 non-league loss to Hebron (Hebron, IN). The Oilers record now stands at 5-2.

With the loss, Merrillville moves to 1-12 on the season. The Pirates travel to Lowell (Lowell, IN) to confront the Red Devils in a non-league battle on Saturday, April 26. The Red Devils come into the battle with a record of 5-4. Lowell won 8-2 in their recent league battle against Hobart (Hobart, IN)
