The Commack Cougars baseball team scored 9 runs and limited the host St. Anthony's Friars to 8 in the Cougars non-league victory on Monday.
The Cougars (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Walt Whitman (Huntington Station, NY). The Wildcats go into the non-league match with a 1-3 record.
The Friars (8-4) will now prepare for their match against St. John the Baptist (West Islip, NY). The Cougars go into the Catholic Nassau Suffolk match with a 2-0 record. In their last match, St. John the Baptist edged Stony Brook (Stony Brook, NY), 9-1, in a non-league bout.
