Forreston Cardinals (Forreston, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Orangeville Broncos (Orangeville, IL), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now sport a 10-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Eastland for a NUIC South challenge on Tuesday, April 26. Forreston will face a Cougars squad coming off a 8-1 non-league win over Warren/Stockton (Warren, IL). The Cougars record now stands at 8-4.

With the loss, Orangeville falls to 12-3 on the campaign. The Broncos travel to Lena-Winslow (Lena, IL) to face the Panthers in a Northwest Upstate Illini - North challenge on Tuesday, April 26. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 6-8. Lena-Winslow won 16-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Amboy (Amboy, IL)
