The crowd at Tuesday's non-league match between the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers (Mt. Vernon, MO) and the host Clever Blue Jays (Clever, MO), saw Mt. Vernon's softball squad nip Clever by a count of 5-0.

The Mountaineers now sport a 30-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Diamond for a non-league match on Friday, April 28. Mt. Vernon will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 13-2 non-league win over St. Mary's-Colgan (Pittsburg, KS). The Wildcats record now stands at 25-9.

With the loss, Clever falls to 12-10 on the campaign. The Blue jays host Pleasant Hope (Pleasant Hope, MO) to face the Pirates in a non-league match on Thursday, April 27. The Pirates enter the match with a record of 6-10. Pleasant Hope won 6-4 in their recent non-league match against Purdy (Purdy, MO)
