In Thursday's non-league game, the host Christian Brothers Academy Brothers baseball team scored a tight 9-5 victory over the La Salle Institute Cadets.

The Brothers (4-4) will now prepare for their game against Shaker (Latham, NY). The Bison go into the Section 2 Suburban - Blue game with a 6-4 record. In their last game, Shaker tipped Colonie Central (Albany, NY), 9-7, in a league game.

The Cadets (8-1) will now prepare for their game against Ichabod Crane (Valatie, NY). The Riders go into the Section 2 Colonial game with a 6-2 record. In their last game, Ichabod Crane was overwhelmed by Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (Ravena, NY), 11-1, in a league game.
