The Mt. Vernon Wildcats baseball team scored 11 runs and limited the host Perry Central Commodores to 2 in the Wildcats non-league victory on Thursday.
The Wildcats (7-7) will now prepare for their match against Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, IL). The Golden Aces go into the non-league match with a 11-7 record. In their last match, Mt. Carmel was overwhelmed by Richland County (Olney, IL), 11-6, in a league match.
The Commodores (5-7) will now prepare for their match against Wood Memorial (Oakland City, IN). The Trojans go into the non-league match with a 1-4 record. In their last match, Wood Memorial gained a win over Evansville Bosse (Evansville, IN), 6-4, in a non-league match.
