The Polk County Wildcats (Benton, TN) baseball trounced the visiting Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC), 12-1 in Thursday's non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Wildcats encounter the Meigs County Tigers (Decatur, TN) in a 2A District 3 contest, on Wednesday, May 1. Polk County will attempt to better on its 10-12 season record. The Tigers come into the contest with a 11-13 record after their 9-2 non-league loss to Red Bank (Chattanooga, TN).

The Bulldogs now sport a 4-9 record. They play next when they host Swain County for a Smoky Mountain 1A contest on Friday, April 26. Murphy will encounter a Maroon Devils squad coming off a 18-7 league win over Murphy (Murphy, NC). The Maroon Devils record now stands at 9-4.
