McClain Tigers (Greenfield, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Piketon Redstreaks (Piketon, OH), 13-12 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 6-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hillsboro for a Frontier Athletic challenge on Monday, April 29. McClain will face a Indians squad coming off a 14-0 league win over Miami Trace (Washington Court House, OH). The Indians record now stands at 16-2.

With the loss, Piketon falls to 11-7 on the campaign. The Redstreaks host Adena (Frankfort, OH) to face the Warriors in a Scioto Valley challenge on Friday, April 26. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 11-4. Adena won 7-2 in their recent league challenge against Paint Valley (Bainbridge, OH)
