Simon Kenton Pioneers (Independence, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Walton-Verona Bearcats (Walton, KY), 15-2 in a league challenge.

The Pioneers now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lafayette for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 27. Simon Kenton will battle a Generals squad coming off a 7-0 non-league win over Henry Clay (Lexington, KY). The Generals record now stands at 13-9.

With the loss, Walton-Verona falls to 11-7 on the campaign. The Bearcats travel to Notre Dame Academy (Park Hills, KY) to battle the Pandas in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 29. The Pandas enter the challenge with a record of 6-5. Notre Dame Academy lost 13-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Mount Notre Dame (Cincinnati, OH)
