Fans at Friday's non-league battle between the Laquey Hornets (Laquey, MO) and the visiting New Covenant Academy Warriors (Springfield, MO), saw Laquey's soccer squad hold off New Covenant Academy by a count of 2-1.

The Hornets (4-5) will now prepare for their battle against Fair Grove (Fair Grove, MO). The Eagles enter the Class 1 District 3 battle with a 2-18 record. In their last battle, Fair Grove was edged by Marshfield (Marshfield, MO), 8-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Warriors battle the New Heights Christian Academy Cougars (Joplin, MO) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, April 26. New Covenant Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Cougars enter the battle with a 3-4 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to McDonald County (Anderson, MO).
