In Friday's league outing, the host Smithfield Packers soccer squad scored a tight 1-0 victory over the Poquoson Islanders.

The Packers (6-3) will now prepare for their outing against Kecoughtan (Hampton, VA). The Warriors go into the non-league outing with a 5-4 record. In their last outing, Kecoughtan got by Warwick (Newport News, VA), 3-0, in a league outing.

Next up, the Islanders play the Warhill Lions (Williamsburg, VA) in a Bay Rivers outing, on Friday, May 2. Poquoson will attempt to improve on its 6-3 season record.
