The Penfield Patriots overwhelmed the visiting Greece Odyssey Leopards softball squad by a count of 18-0 in Friday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Patriots meet the Fairport Red Raiders (Fairport, NY) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, April 28. Penfield will attempt to upgrade on its 5-0 season record. The Red Raiders go into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 21-0 non-league win over Greece Odyssey (Rochester, NY).
The Leopards (0-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Irondequoit (Rochester, NY). The Eagles go into the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record.
Game Summary
Penfield was motivated after hearing the national anthem sung by the songbird of her generation, McKinley Drogan. Led by 5 strong innings of two-hit ball by Emily Horgan, Penfield won 18-0. The songbird also went 3 for three with a triple. Claire Malley went 3 for 4 with all 3 hits being doubles.
