Cheverus Stags (Portland, ME) supporters left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad thwart the host Thornton Academy Trojans (Saco, ME), 10-0 in a league game.

With the triumph, Cheverus improves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Stags travel to Scarborough (Scarborough, ME) to play the Red Storm in a Class A South game on Monday, April 28. The Red Storm enter the game with a record of 0-1. Scarborough lost 10-3 in their recent non-league game against Winnacunnet (Hampton, NH)

The Trojans now hold a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Biddeford for a Class A South game on Wednesday, April 30.
