California High School Softball - Elk Grove can't get by Oakdale

April 25, 2025: Oakdale, CA 95361

The Oakdale Mustangs edged the visiting Elk Grove Thundering Herd softball squad by a count of 7-6 in Friday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs play the Notre Dame (SO) Knights (Sherman Oaks, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, April 25. Oakdale will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Knights enter the challenge with a 17-4 record after their 14-4 league win over Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, CA).

The Thundering Herd (12-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Monterey Trail (Elk Grove, CA). The Mustangs enter the Delta League challenge with a 8-13 record. In their last challenge, Monterey Trail was nudged by St. Joseph (Santa Maria, CA), 8-0, in a non-league challenge.
