Virginia High School Softball - Salem edges Nansemond River

April 25, 2025: Virginia Beach, VA 23464

The Salem Sundevils softball team scored 5 runs and held the visiting Nansemond River Warriors to 3 in the Sundevils non-league win on Friday.

The Sundevils now sport a 4-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Princess Anne for a Beach battle on Tuesday, April 29. Salem will confront a Cavaliers team coming off a 3-1 league loss to Landstown (Virginia Beach, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 2-7.

With the loss, Nansemond River moves to 5-5 on the season. The Warriors travel to Nansemond-Suffolk Academy (Suffolk, VA) to confront the Saints in a non-league battle on Monday, April 28. The Saints come into the battle with a record of 12-4. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy won 15-1 in their recent non-league battle against Currituck County (Barco, NC)
