The Monroe Cheesemakers triumphed over the host Tomahawk Hatchets softball squad by a count of 9-1 in Saturday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Cheesemakers play the Brodhead Cardinals (Brodhead, WI) in a Rock Valley - Rock challenge, on Tuesday, April 28. Monroe will attempt to upgrade on its 12-2 season record. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a 6-2 record after their 10-0 league loss to Turner (Beloit, WI).
The Hatchets (4-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Athens (Athens, WI). The Bluejays enter the non-league challenge with a 6-3 record. In their last challenge, Athens was routed by Stratford (Stratford, WI), 13-3, in a non-league challenge.
