Layton Lancers (Layton, UT) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Herriman Mustangs (West Herriman, UT), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Lancers now sport a 1-0 record.

With the loss, Herriman falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Riverton (Riverton, UT) to face the Silverwolves in a challenge on Thursday, April 27. The Silverwolves enter the challenge with a record of 4-0. Riverton won 9-2 in their recent league challenge against Copper Hills (West Jordan, UT)
