Tri-City Tornadoes (Buffalo, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Athens Warriors (Athens, IL), 12-11 in a non-league challenge.

The Tornadoes now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they host Lincolnwood for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 2.

With the loss, Athens falls to 4-10 on the campaign. The Warriors host Rochester (Rochester, IL) to battle the Rockets in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 28. The Rockets enter the challenge with a record of 12-6. Rochester won 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Decatur Eisenhower (Decatur, IL)
