North Carolina High School Softball - Perquimans nudges Camden County

April 26, 2023: Camden, NC 27921

Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Camden County Bruins (Camden, NC), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates now sport a 17-4 record. They take the field next when they host Gates County for a Four Rivers 1A challenge on Tuesday, May 2. Perquimans will face a Red Barons squad coming off a 16-1 league win over North East Carolina Prep (Tarboro, NC). The Red Barons record now stands at 11-9.

With the loss, Camden County falls to 15-4 on the campaign. The Bruins travel to Holmes (Edenton, NC) to face the Aces in a Northeastern Coastal 2A/3A challenge on Thursday, April 27. The Aces enter the challenge with a record of 12-7. Holmes lost 5-4 in their recent league challenge against Camden County (Camden, NC)
