Lincoln-Way Central Knights (New Lenox, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Whitney Young Dolphins (Chicago, IL), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Knights now own a 13-4 record. They take the field next when they host Lincoln-Way West for a SouthWest Suburban challenge on Thursday, April 27. Lincoln-Way Central will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 14-4 league win over Stagg (Palos Hills, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 12-6.

With the loss, Whitney Young falls to 15-10 on the campaign. The Dolphins travel to Kennedy (Chicago, IL) to battle the Crusaders in a Chicago Public Red challenge on Thursday, April 27. The Crusaders enter the challenge with a record of 2-9. Kennedy lost 25-13 in their recent league challenge against Lake View (Chicago, IL)
