Herndon Hornets (Herndon, VA) fans were thrilled Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting George C. Marshall Statesmen (Falls Church, VA), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Hornets face the Lake Braddock Bruins (Burke, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, April 29. Herndon will attempt to better on its 8-2 season record. The Bruins enter the challenge with a 7-3 record after their 1-0 league loss to Woodson (Fairfax, VA).

The Statesmen now have a 0-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to McLean for a Liberty challenge on Monday, April 29. George C. Marshall will face a Highlanders team coming off a 3-3 league Yorktown (Arlington, VA). The Highlanders record now stands at 7-1.
