Washington Township Minutemen (Sewell, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Atlantic County Institute of Tech (Mays Landing, NJ), 8-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Minutemen now own a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they host Audubon for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 29. Washington Township will battle a Green Wave squad coming off a 4-0 non-league win over Bordentown (Bordentown, NJ). The Green Wave record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, Atlantic County Institute of Tech falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The travel to Wildwood Catholic (North Wildwood, NJ) to battle the Crusaders in a Cape-Atlantic - National challenge on Tuesday, April 30. The Crusaders enter the challenge with a record of 1-8. Wildwood Catholic lost 19-2 in their recent league challenge against Ocean City (Ocean City, NJ)
