The South Cougars softball team scored 11 runs and limited the host Maize South Mavericks to 10 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, South improves its record to 6-2 on the year. The Cougars travel to Salina Central (Salina, KS) to clash with the Mustangs in a non-league game on Tuesday, April 30. The Mustangs come into the game with a record of 7-13. Salina Central won 14-5 in their recent non-league game against Hays (Hays, KS)

In their next game, the Mavericks clash with the Newton Railroaders (Newton, KS) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, April 30. Maize South will attempt to improve on its 12-3 season record. The Railroaders come into the game with a 3-6 record after their 22-11 non-league loss to Andover (Andover, KS).
