The Pleasant Plains Cardinals baseball team scored 5 runs and held the visiting Geneseo Maple Leafs to 1 in the Cardinals non-league win on Saturday.
The Cardinals now own a 18-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Joseph-Ogden for a non-league test on Monday, April 28. Pleasant Plains will play a Spartans team coming off a 6-0 league win over Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 20-2.
With the defeat, Geneseo drops to 9-13 on the year. The Maple leafs travel to Routt Catholic (Jacksonville, IL) to play the Rockets in a non-league test on Saturday, April 26. The Rockets go into the test with a record of 12-4. Routt Catholic won 14-0 in their recent league test against Pleasant Hill/Western (Pleasant Hill, IL)
